I personally think it's mean - killing two animals, for a novelty! Of course, I also hate the fact that antlers as wall decor are for some reason popular in country decorating right now...
Oh the jackalope... it exists in order to keep the South Dakota tourism industry going. Really, jackalope everything is found at all those cheesy tourist traps in SD. And SD is rife with cheesy tourist traps.

It's excellent. Yes, you too can go and see the world's largest ball of paint! The summary of CT (where I reside but hardly my home state) is the most honest I've ever seen.
That's a great site, Laura! NJ seems to have a pretty large number of dead pet attractions...hmmm. This is a great resource for summer road trips, yay!
